Supermarkets

supermarketYou can find a lot of supermarkets in the town of Leeuwarden. In the Dutch supermarkets you can get all your daily needs, from milk till toilet paper and beer. To get strong liquors, you’ll need to go to the special off-license liquor stores. Most of the supermarkets are located in the suburbs, so you’ll always find one close to your place. Most of the supermarkets are opened from 9.00 a.m. till 8.00 p.m. but some of them close early or stay open until 9.00 p.m. On Saturdays they  might have different opening times. On Sundays, all stores are usually closed. The most common supermarkets are: Albert Heijn (AH), Super de Boer, Poiesz and C1000. Since July 2009 a new supermarket called Jumbo opened. Their prices are relatively low and they’re opened every day ’till 9.00 p.m. (also on Saturday). The address is Johannes Kolfplein 1.
